Chris first became interested in photography taking photos for his middle school yearbook in the 1970s. In high school he worked at a camera shop and shot photos for extra money. He knew it would be his career.
He earned his degree from the South East Center for Photographic Studies at Daytona State College. The Florida Professional Photographers Association awarded him the 1986 student photographer of the year scholarship. Chris interned for master photographer Bruce Evensen and would later work for him after college.
He worked as a photo assistant for Strobe Studios and Harcourt Brace Jovanovich shooting catalogs and textbooks. He then worked for the Tampa Tribune as a photojournalist. Chris eventually started CGPhoto in 1989 shooting weddings but in 1991 shot his first band.
In addition to photography Chris has a passion for audio recording. He records symphonic and jazz performances for the Florida Bandmasters Association and orchestral performances for the Florida Orchestra Association.
